Weighted Side Bends Ab Exercise

April 26th, 2010 | by admin |

www.sixpacknow.com Weighted Side Bends with a Dumbbell is a great exercise to really work those obliques muscles. Be careful however not to do too much of this exercise with a heavy weight as it could cause the side of your stomach to add muscle which could give the appearance of a thicker stomach. So stick with lighter weight and more repetitions. For more videos and tips on getting great abs visit the Web’s Largest Abdominal Training Resource at http

no….you need to do high weight / low rep to gain the muscle THEN do low weight/high rep

if your doing 100 reps of anything you might as well be slamming your head against a wall. anything more then 20 reps means you don’t have enough resistance.

try to squeeze your obliques yourself to add additional pressure, may be that will do

Think about it like this mate- I had the same problem.

Focus on your SHOULDER blades. Make your shoulders go slanted, then focus on bringing your SHOULDERS parallel to the ground. Remember, focus on your SHOULDERS because your obliques move your TORSO.

Otherwise, your body has a million tricks and one NOT using your obliques to do this exercise.

also if you don’t have any dumbbells like me try filling up a ruck sack with some bottles of water just as effective!

it works the obliques if you concentrate the weight onto your obliques right(most people concentrate it on the quadratus lumborum because they don’t know how to do it) … watching a video on “how to” is not quite accurate.

The info is correct. If you do too much of this exercise, you will think you are getting chub on the side. My friend and I were doing this exercise 2-3 times a week and keep asking each other “dude are we getting fat?” lol then we looked it up on the internet and we were like well DUHHH!!!

At first i thought he was CGI but then I thought, “why would they make a knock-kneed CGI dude?” Upon further inspection, after his validity as a flesh and blood human being was confirmed by my sources, I then decided to do his exercises because if I eat one more piece of anything fried, i will be eligible for the title of “King Fat Ass” and my crown shall be made of greasy french fries and my royal goblet will have the McDonald’s arches etched on the side.

I did this exercise for many months – then I tried it while sitting on a bench, raising and lowering from the floor – much better! It stops all the hip swaying, I was like 10 times as sore the next day. Keep the arm with the weight straight, the other on hip like doing a deep knee bend.

or 20 reps with a hell of a lot of weight, but you would probably hurt your back

it takes time when your obliques start to get bigger than you’ll feel them and do alot of reps I mean alot like 3 sets 100
