What are some really good exercise that helps tone the ab muscles?
December 28th, 2009 | by admin |I’m in pretty good shape except for my stomach. 3 kids later I don’t exactly have the abs I used to. What are some really good ab exercises for toning I could do to help tone my stomach? I already do 100 crunches a day. I do 25 at a time 4x a day. However, I’d love to know more exercises that help. Give me some ideas! What worked for you? Thanks!
Abs can be worked out every day because they have great recovery time. Do roughly 12-20 reps depending on strength and endurance levels. Do 3-5 sets of each exercise.
Crunches
Altenating crunches(elbow to opp knee)
Reverse crunches(knees to chest)
Flutter kicks(lie flat on back with legs fully extended and heels >6in. off floor, then corss one leg over the other and alternate)
Bicycle kicks
Hanging crunches(chin-up bar)
Hanging reverse crunches(chin-up bar)
side bends(hold weight in one hand, then use free hand to touch knee while standing straight up)

Push your self to do as much as you can take even if its 26, 27 instead of 25 instead of crunches try doing them on a yoga ball or bicycle crunches they’re the most effective.

The best thing i would say to tone your abs up is get a stability ball they run about 25 bucks at almost any sport stores. Theres plenty of websites that tell you certain exercises to do on them but trust me the stability ball works you will know when you feel it. Just do the exercises 3-4 times a week and you’ll be set.

For your abs to really show, you need to do a round of cardio exercise, for at least 30 mins per session, 3-4 times per week. This is because cardio revs up your metabolism to burn off excess fat from your entire body and that includes fat in your abs too, if you’ve it there…….
