What does the Bible say about bodybuilding?

March 18th, 2010 | by admin |

I know it says don’t have sex before marriage and since bodybuilding increases your libido, should bodybuilding only take place within marriage?

The bible preferred strongman over bodybuilding. None of the vanity of training for big muscles, but rather pure strength.

The greatest biblical strongman was Samson, who got his strength from his hair, and could smash mountains together with his bare hands. Also, remember that Jesus was a carpenter before power tools, so he would have been very strong. They were strong in order to get stuff done, not pose on a stage.

They did not do bodybuilding then. It only started here in about the 1940s.

show me evidence that bodybuilding increases libido. i think it’s more likely that bodybuilders are more likely to show off their bodies and girls are more attracted to them than to normal-sized men, which boosts their ego.
unless of course you can bring me evidence that bodybuilding increases sex drive/ libido.

btw, i don’t know the bible much but i’m assuming it says nothing about it.

Brilliant! I never thought of it like that but I’m sure it says something about treating your body like a temple or summot or "Thou shalt look after yourself so you shalt be sexified!" Summit like that.
