Your body needs fat and calories to survive. Instead of taking away everything that has fat in it, you should start eating food with the right kind of fat and calories, for example, the fat oil from fish is very healthy. If you start to starve your body, your body will go into survival mode. This means that when you reduce the fat you eat to a minimum, your body will preserve a higher percentage of the fat it's given. Let's say you normally eat a lot of fat, more than your body needs, it will only store maybe 25% of the fat. But when you reduce the fat to a minimum, it will at first do as normal and by that you will lose weight...for a short time...Then your body will adjust by starting to store maybe 50% of the small amount of fat you digest. What do you think will happen at once the diet is over? You will gain weight even faster than before. So, periods of starving or strict diets will make you even fatter than before.
References :
http://strip-that-fat-review.com/understanding-diets.php?cb=mk7878

Journal your workouts with time and day. You may not have been using the treadmill as long as it may seem. Also you should journal all food intake and add the calories at the end of the day. Don't eat two hours before you go to bed. Drink only water and energy drinks. Lessen you sugar intake.
References :
Why am I not losing weight?
I am overweight by about 2 stone (although I wouldn't mind losing a bit more). I am 5'4 and hourglass shape and very flabby with most of the weight on my hips and thighs. So I bought a treadmill and have been using it between 4 - 6 times a week after work for 45mins - 1 hr. I walk/jog uphill (10% incline) for the entire time as I want to tone my legs as well as losing weight and I have kept my diet to between 1400 and 1600 calories a day. I always eat breakfast as I'm told this helps your metabolism and have been following this routine for nearly 3 months.

But I have lost only 1 or 2 pounds since I began! I don't understand why. I am also very tired all the time, my hair seems to have gotten thinner (I had to have it cut) and I am constantly hungry - I thought my stomach would get used to the smaller meals!

I really don't understand what I am doing wrong! I sit and watch my flatmates stuff themselves with pizza and chocolate every day and not bother with anything more than a 10 minute stroll to the bus stop and yet they are all slim and toned!!! What am I missing? I thought diet and exercise was the main thing to lose weight? I am sweating buckets every day on the treadmill and it's all for nothing it seems! I am still fat and covered in cellulite!!!!! Please please help!

EDIT: I also feel really sick and bloated when I do eat which is not good!
Edit: The treadmill (and my watch) time how long I am using the treadmill - it's brand new so I don't think it's broken. I also keep a food journal already.
